Past Champions, Popular Players & Rising Stars Highlight Final Field


Defending champion Annie Park will officially play in the 2019 ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer after the final field was set Tuesday evening. She will be joined in the field by past tournament champions Anna Nordqvist, Stacy Lewis, and Karrie Webb, as well as a host of some of the biggest names in the LPGA. “We’re extremely proud of the caliber of our past champions and we’re always excited to welcome them back to our community,” said Tim Erensen, executive director of the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer. “We look forward to crowning a new champion this June as we continue to showcase these amazing athletes to our fans and partners in South Jersey.” In addition to the past champions, this year’s field will also feature fan favorites such as Lexi Thompson, Brooke Henderson, Morgan Pressel, Paula Creamer, Christina Kim, Natalie Gulbis and Cheyenne Woods, as well as New Jersey native Marina Alex. The field will also feature Ariya Jutanugarn, whose dominant performance last season resulted in winning the Rolex Player of the Year, Vare Trophy Award, Money Title, Race to the CME Globe and Rolex ANNIKA Award. The field will also include a group of promising young players such as Maria Fassi and Jennifer Kupcho. Fassi (Univ. of Arkansas) just won the 2019 individual NCAA title and Kupcho (Wake Forest Univ.) was the 2018 NCAA individual champion. Also in the field is Duke senior Virginia Elena Carta - playing on a sponsor exemption - is a past NCAA individual champion and National Player of the Year, as well as a runner-up in the U.S. Women’s Amateur. They will be joined by promising rookies such as Muni He, Klara Spilkova and Jeongeun Lee6. The ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer will be held June 3-9, 2019. The 144-player field will compete over three rounds for a $1.75 million purse at Seaview in Galloway, New Jersey. The tournament will be televised live on Golf Channel.
