October 20, 2014
Galloway, NJ (October 20, 2014) – Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has been named the Official Hotel and Casino for the 2015 ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer, tournament officials announced today. Under the new designation, Borgata will host the pairings and award receptions, which are the two exclusive evening events that are part of the tournament’s Pro-Am experience. Borgata will host the pairings reception on Tuesday of tournament week, and on Wednesday its popular MIXX nightclub will stage the Official Pro-Am Celebration for nearly 1,000 attendees.
The ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer features the largest Pro-Am in all of professional golf, encompassing more than 800 amateur golfers teeing it up and socializing over two days, three nights and 1,250 rounds with the world’s best female golfers. The two-day Official Pro-Am leads into a weekend showcasing the professionals competing for a $1.5 million purse in the 54-hole, official LPGA event.
“We are thrilled to partner with Atlantic City’s leading casino as we continually strive to enhance what is already a world class event for amateur participants and LPGA members,” said Leela Narang, Tournament Director. “We’re also excited for the professionals, our Pro-Am partners and their guests to experience MIXX, which has an energy that is unique to any Pro-Am celebration venue on tour.”
Borgata will also house many LPGA players, Pro-Am participants and other VIP guests during tournament week as part of its designation as host hotel. In addition, guests staying at the hotel during tournament week can gain free entrance to the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer by showing their room card at the main gate.
“It is our pleasure to host this wonderful and noteworthy event,” said Borgata Sr. VP of Operations Joe Lupo. “The ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer has been a staple in the Atlantic City region for over 20 years and Borgata is thrilled to offer its guests the opportunity to participate in such a momentous tournament featuring some of the world’s greatest golfers.”
